::Outfit post::

Yesterday I attended the preview of Singapore's National day parade. To be a little bit patriotic, I wore something red which is one of the colors of our national flag. It was actually an outfit experiment for me. I wouldn't call it absolutely Dollykei because I only took elements of it only. So maybe it's like a casual version of it or something. Again please excuse my swollen face.

If you didn't know already, I bought the top straightaway because it reminded me of this photo (credit: tokyofashion.com)

Looks like more work needs to be done!

:: Nodame cantabile movie :: Ueno Juri 上野 樹里

Hey guys, I'm updating from the movie theatre to watch the newly released nodame cantabile movie of the second installation.

The movie just ended and it was a very satisfying end! I have been following the drama series all the way to the movies. The actors were very engaging! I really love the female lead, Ueno Juri. Her acting really makes me laugh and cry with her! I've never been so moved by an actress.

Anyway this post is featuring, Ueno Juri. I consider her as one of my idols. Ueno Juri was is an award-winning Japanese actress from Kakogawa, Hyogo, Japan. She has also graced the pages mori girl magazines. In one of her latest dramas, Sunao ni narakute, she's seen often wearing the casual version of mori girl. Her make up is usually very natural and does her hair in a hassle-free kinda way. Here are just some photos of her!

I think she's a very talented actress and Nodame Cantabile is probably one of her best works. I look forward to see her in other shows! So if you have never watch it, what are you waiting for?

Mori Make up inspiration of the day!

I love the color palette on this one! Pretty sweet and natural...almost. Remember more is less, less is more!
A Jill Stuart ad.

I know not all mori girls fancy wearing make up but you really should do the basics! Here's a quick checklist!

1. Primer - to make your face look smooth and flawless
2. Concealer (optional) - to get rid of any thing you'd like to conceal ;)
3. foundation (optional)- A little bit of foundation is good but don't over do it! You could straight away replace this with face powder if you want to.
4. Face powder
5. Blusher - for that mori girl glow!
6. Lipgloss or nude lipstick (optional)

I've not included eyeliner, but I usually use it anyway, instead of black try brown, but it all depends on what you'd like to achieve.

K-pop culture

Credit goes to whoever took this.

Hi all, reporting live from 2am concert! While I'm still waiting for them to perform. Rainy day today...and lots of fans, about 3000 wet fans that is!

The empty stage and calm fans before the chaos.
The fans under the rainy weather!

I'm going to talk briefly about Korean culture/fashion. I'm pretty new to the scene unless you Count me liking h.o.t and shinhwa back then! I'm here with a bunch of fans and most are sporting the Korean fashion.

I love Korean fashion ,it can be cute
And really Edgy. That being said these korean artistes Really know how to set the trend. They also really have beautiful Mori girl outfits too, however, it is really expensive and I'm not even talking about Those blog wholesale kind!

Back to 2AM...
Here are just two videos that I uploaded on Youtube. (beware of screaming fans and I swear it's not me screaming.)

and here's one with less screaming...

All taken with Iphone.

They came, they performed and then...lucky fans, get to see them close and go for a fansign!I was lucky to be one of them however the security was so strict that I didn't even get to see some of them properly.

It was a pretty tiring day but a satisfying one nonetheless! I was really happy to meet them and hear them sing live! The K wave is so strong in Singapore now and people of all races are now affected by it! Anyway I'm signing off with a photo of satisfied fans (a.k.a me and my friends)

::cosplay::

I don't really know if I should consider Cosplay a subculture but I think where you live makes the difference. Like in Japan, I think it is a subculture where else, in America, i don't think it's a subculture. As for where I am living, I think it has become a subculture after many years.

I've noticed in the past two years atleast there has been cosplayers almost every weekend and now we even have like 3 maid cafes. It has come to the point that the general public are so used to it and know what it is.

Anyway, my sister and I went to Cosfest 2010 this year and ACTUALLY COSPLAYING SOMETHING NOT OBSCURE. We're both mad I guess, because we cosplay things like musicals, rockbands and something else. So for once it's really Japanese. Well we kinda did that on the second day X3.

So I don't know why we still do this. It's been 8 years at least for me, I should be "retiring" but I recently got the cosplay fever again after so long or it could just be the attention seeking...whore in me.
So I'm signing off with a photo because I have to meet Korean Band 2AM! <3

:: Make Up: Majolica Majorca :: Inspiration::

I know I promised a cosplay post, but it totally back fired on me. I couldn't manage to take much photos at all but instead my photo gets taken alot. If anyone was wondering, I went as Sebastian Michealis from Kuroshitsuji on the first day and on the second, I went as Mozart from Mozart l'Opera Rock which was really funny especially channeling Mikelangelo Loconte's version of Mozart.

That aside, I just wanted to post about one of my favorite make up products!
majolica majorca by Shiseido
Although, I don't think that outside of Asia has it, but hey, you can't let that stop you! Online shopping is always the answer! Group orders *hint hint*

I'm not going to explain the products but rather it's portrayal and advertisements and hope that it gives you inspiration. I've always been a fan of this brand and kept using it till now. I knew about this product years ago because of Lolita. Lately I realized that they really have beautiful photos and some look pretty much dolly kei, mori or lolita. The make up always give me ideas to spice up my look!

Here are some photos, hoping to inspire you!
This is the most recent one if i'm not wrong.
Anyway if you ever have the opportunity to try it, please do so!
